Teaching and learning are tools that allow students to construct and develop their world-views, discover their identities and become self-empowered. A teacher should encourage students to be curious about their distinctions, in order for them to recognize their unique contribution to the world.

  The classroom should open students to a reality they would not necessarily experience in their immediate environment. It should be a place to awaken learners' senses, stimulate their imagination and encourage critical judgment in an interesting, attractive and non-threatening way.

 Learning occurs when students are attentive and active. This only happens when teachers accept that they do not know everything, take an interest in their students and respond to their interests, show openness, elicit different points-of-view, and most importantly, show their passion and desire to be part of the competencies and energies of the school team, educational community and social milieu.
